View Full Version : iOS 5 launched

iOS 5 has been launched and available for free download and update.

It claims to have over 200 new software features for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Will try it out.

After updating iTunes to 10.5 and connecting the iPad2 to PC, I received a prompt to update the OS to iOS 5. Am downloading now, 5 hours remaining... http://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/images/smilies/eek.gifhttp://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Updated to iOS 5, which is about 700 over MB.

Noticeably the iPod App is now replaced with the Music App, and its lyrics does not show up when playing a song in this new app. http://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

Either it is a bug or this feature has been taken out? Also reported in Apple Support Communities (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3377520?start=0&tstart=0).

Exploring other features...

In the iOS 4, I used to sync the iPad with the PC-based iTunes via a cable. Now in the iOS 5, it supports syncing the iPad with the PC via Wi-Fi without needing a cable.

Tested and worked well. http://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
