Even though Symbian OS was deemed to be the number one in the world, Android became the top selling OS, RIM second, and iOS the third, in the second quarter 2010 in the US market.

And in terms of mobile web browsing, Android is also uprising at the expense of iOS that is still leading in the North America market according to the latest report from Quantcast.

Microsoft hopes to bury iPhone, Android (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101002/tc_nm/us_microsoft_phones)...

Windows Phone 7 software will be publicly unveiled on October 11 and expected on handsets in stores by November.

Some analysts say "it's Microsoft's last chance to catch up with Apple and Google Inc's Android smartphones, after squandering its strong market position in only a few years."

"We'll have to see how much vendor support (Microsoft) gets behind it that was partially what drove Android success," said Keane at Alpine. "But now, their problem is, 'We already have Android and the iPhone, do we need a third one?'."

Android OS smartphones account for 29% of the U.S. market; iOS and RIM devices stand at 27% each, according to Nielsen’s research.

So do I. Temporarily entered into my life schedule for 2016 http://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Then you will be able to get a device running on Android 6.0 (if there's) http://www.techsupportalert.com/freeware-forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Right now I went through a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfJuigJebRg&feature=player_embedded#at=2191) which takes about an hour showing what you'll have in Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), supporting larger screen devices, multi-core processors, hardware acceleration for graphics and introducing new user interfaces.

That's impressive.

i think that android will soon overtake symbian. I think symbian is up there because they have established a common ground by starting off early. We cannot deny the fact that their move to initially target the greater mass is working wonders for them. It is good for android to be, though slowly, climbing up the tech ladder. Android does not need everyone to turn to it as long as it is shared among a group of people with common interests.
